CHCMHS001 – Work with People with Mental Health Issues
What You Need to Know…
The above Unit or Units of Competency from the Community Services Training Package have been made available as individual units of nationally recognised training.
The units are designed for people who have qualifications related to youth work or pastoral care but need to complete additional training to meet the minimum qualification requirements under the current NSCP (National School Chaplaincy Programme) guidelines. As a result, where applicable, the content and tasks in the training and assessment materials for these units relate to the context of chaplaincy as relevant.
Individuals wishing to enrol in units for general professional development are most welcome, taking into consideration this context when considering doing so.
The cost for each unit is $350, paid online at the time of enrolment.
Format of the Units
The coursework will entail a range of online tasks including engaging with online materials and responding online in a range of written formats, as well as completing some practical tasks relating to the content covered online.
Workload and Delivery Times
You can apply online at any time. Please allow up to two weeks for your enrolment to be processed, and up to two weeks upon successful completion to finalise assessment.
Units are delivered in four learning sessions over a 6 week period. You can complete the sessions at your own pace during those 6 weeks and you will need to set aside between 8-12 hours to move through each session.
You will be allocated a trainer to coach and guide you through the coursework. They will support and encourage you, troubleshoot problems or difficulties with the content; and assess your competency.
